Welcome to Vauz, a secure password manager offered by Sealzi. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").
2. Services Provided
Vauz provides a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for managing and storing passwords securely. We offer three plans: Free, Plus, and Premium. Detailed features of each plan are available on our website.
A Free account needs only an email address. It is created when you open the link we send to that address and confirm, and it stays free. Plus and Premium are paid subscriptions, described in section 5.
3. User Responsibilities
Users must ensure their devices meet the minimum requirements to run Vauz software. You agree not to:
- Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the software.
- Use the software for any unlawful activities.
- Share your login credentials with others.
- Reproduce or resell the software.
4. Accepting These Terms, and the Record We Keep
You accept these terms by ticking the box when you create your account. We record the moment you accepted, which version of this document was in force, and the IP address and browser you accepted from.
Each time you agree to a charge — buying a plan, upgrading, switching, or resuming one — you tick a box beside a sentence that states the amount, when you will first be charged, how often after that, and that the charge is made under these terms. We record that exact sentence, which version of this document was in force, the moment you agreed, and the IP address and browser you agreed from.
These records exist to show a card issuer that a disputed payment was authorised. We keep them while the account exists and for as long afterwards as a payment can still be disputed, and use them for nothing else. They are never used for advertising, profiling or tracking, and are shared only with our payment processor when answering a dispute.
5. Paid Plans, Billing and Renewal
Prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable sales taxes (GST/HST) are added based on the province of your billing address. Payments are processed by our payment processor, Helcim: your card details go to Helcim directly and are never received or stored by us.
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or yearly period and is charged to the card on file, until you cancel it. For a yearly plan we email you a reminder 14 days before it renews.
- Upgrading from Plus to Premium takes effect immediately. The unused part of the period you have already paid for is converted into time on the new plan, calculated on the price before tax and rounded down, and the new plan is first charged when that time runs out — or straight away if none is left.
- Moving to a smaller plan, or between monthly and yearly, takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep your current plan until then, and the new one is first charged on that date.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and nothing more is charged. You can resume before that date.
- Refunds. Payments are not refunded, in whole or in part, including for the unused part of a period after you cancel or delete your account, except where the law requires otherwise.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, our payment processor tries again over the following days and emails you, and your plan continues meanwhile. If the payment still has not gone through after those attempts, your account moves to the Free plan. If you update your card within 60 days of that, the amount due is charged and your plan comes back; after 60 days the subscription is cancelled.
- Price changes. We may change our prices. A new price applies to your subscription only from a renewal after we have told you about it by email, in advance.
- Deleting your account cancels your subscription straight away and ends your plan; no further payments are taken.
6. Family Plans
A Plus or Premium subscriber can start a family. The account that starts it is its owner, and the family runs on the owner's plan: members use that plan while they are in the family and are not billed for it. A Plus family has room for four accounts and a Premium family for six, the owner included.
- Everyone in the family can see who is in it and can pass on its invite code. Only the owner can send an invitation by email from vauz.sealzi.com, and only as many a day as the family has open places, because invitations to people who did not ask for them are what gets a sender treated as spam.
- The owner can remove members, change the invite code, and close the family. A member can leave at any time.
- If the owner's plan ends, the family's members lose it too. If the owner moves to a plan with room for fewer accounts, nobody is removed, but no one new can join until the family fits the plan again.
- If the owner deletes their account, the family is closed.
7. Account Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by providing written or electronic notice. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the software and destroy all copies. Sealzi reserves the right to terminate accounts for any breach of these terms.
8. Privacy and Data Security
Your data security is our priority. Vauz encrypts your vault on your own device, and we never receive it unencrypted. We may store your encrypted vault on your request on our servers. Please review our Privacy Policy and our threat model for more details.
9. Updates and Changes
Sealzi may update the software periodically. Users may be required to accept additional terms for these updates. We also reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sealzi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of Vauz software.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta. Any disputes will be resolved under the jurisdiction of Alberta courts.
